Organizing Authority: The North American Championship Regatta is organized by the United States Sunfish Class Association (USSCA), US SAILING and Rush Creek Yacht Club.

 

Rules:  The regatta will be governed by the 2005 – 2008 Racing Rules of Sailing, the Prescriptions of US Sailing, the International Sunfish Class Association (ISCA), and USSCA except as any of these are altered by the Sailing Instructions. 

 

Category:  The regatta is designated Category A.

 

Eligibility:  Each competitor shall be a current year (2007) member of their respective country’s Sunfish Class Association.  All sailors must have reached their 40th birthday as of the first day of racing.  USSCA membership forms will be available at registration.  See attached registration for entry fees.

 

Entry Requirements:  Competitors may register on-line or by completing the entry form and sending it with the appropriate fees to:  Rush Creek Yacht Club, 320 Rush Creek Drive, Heath, Texas 75032.  

 

The entry fee is $70.00 per competitor.  This includes two continental breakfasts, 2 lunches, Saturday night dinner and after race beverages.  Additional meals may be purchased at registration.  There is a $10 discount for registering on or before May 1, 2007.

 

Registration:  Registration will be held from 1600 to 2000 on May 25, 2007 and from 0800 to 0930 on May 26, 2007.

Number Of Races:  The race committee will attempt to run as many races as possible.  One race shall constitute a regatta.

The Race Committee may adjust the racing schedule to suit weather conditions.

Venue:  The southern area of Lake Ray Hubbard Reservoir.

Sailing Instructions:  The sailing instructions will be available during registration beginning on Friday, May 25, 2007.

Courses:  The courses to be sailed will be provided in the sailing instructions.

Scoring:  Scoring will be in accordance with the low point scoring system of RRS Appendix A2 except that if six or more races are completed, the worst finish will not be scored.

Trophies:  Trophies will be awarded to the top place finishers in each age division as well as the top three overall and the top opposite sex.

Housing:  Housing will be available on a first come first serve basis and we will attempt to accommodate all requests for housing.  Please complete the housing information on the registration form to communicate you are interested in this option.  You will be contacted to confirm that your request has been completed or that you will need to make other arrangements for housing.  Several hotels are available nearby in the event private housing is not available.

By participating in the regatta, each boat owner, skipper and crew agrees to sail and to use RCYC’ S facilities at his or her own risk.  And to the fullest extent permitted under Texas law, each boat owner, skipper and crew unconditionally and irrevocably releases and discharges Rush Creek Yacht Club, the Rush Creek Educational Fund, their officers, board of governors and directors, and agents, and all other persons who assist in maintaining equipment or in organizing and conducting races from all claims and legal liability for personal injury, death or property damage incurred in connection with the regatta and caused by negligence.

 

I agree to be bound by The Racing Rules of Sailing and by all other rules that govern this event.

TABC Rules:  Texas Alcoholic Beverage Control (TABC) requires that all beverages consumed on RCYC premises be purchased from the club.  Alcoholic beverages purchased from RCYC may not be taken off the premises.  A three-day TABC card will be provided to non-club member skippers at the time of registration at the cost of $3.00 if requested. 

 

Club Purchases by Non Members:  RCYC is not equipped for non-member cash purchases of food and drink for this regatta (other than the meals included and paid for at registration).  However, reciprocal charges and credit cards (account to be opened at registration) are welcome for non-member food and drink purchases.
