2000 - 2001 West Florida Sunfish Circuit #2

The second regatta day of the West Florida Sunfish Circuit 2000-01 series took place at Gulfport Yacht Club on Sunday October 22. Sixteen sailors participated, with 8 racing in the A fleet and 8 in the B fleet. Winds ranged from 8-14 with moderate chop. The Gulfport Yacht Club race committee did an excellent job setting the modified olympic courses.

Rod Koch dominated the A fleet, followed by Joel Heyne and John Spray.  Cindy Kaighen led the B fleet, winning 2 out of the 3 races.

For those of you, receiving this, that have not yet had the opportunity to join in the fun with the West Florida Sunfish Circuit-----Please do not hesitate to show up or call Mindy or Paul for more information. You decide which fleet you want to participate in (A for the more experienced racer or B for the less experienced racer). We run 3 races and then after all of that hard work we snack, drink, and trade stories. Come down to the Clearwater Sailing Center on December 10 and meet your fellow Sunfish Sailors and see what you have been missing!
