Canandaigua Regatta - August 2000

The day started wet and windless, forcing the cancellation of two races, then the sun came out and the wind came up in time to sail 4 great races on beautiful Canandaigua Lake this past Saturday for the 2000 CYC Sunfish Regatta.

The 17 boat fleet included 4 juniors and 1 midget. While our lonely 11 year old "Midget" was scored independently, according to Race Commitee he crossed the finish line ahead of the entire Junior fleet in 3 of the 4 races, quite an accomplishment!

Our results were delayed by a protest. Apologies to those of you who were forced to leave prior to the announcement of results.

Note: At the request of the Juniors, an alternate course (the "Midget" course) was set for Juniors in the final three races. Hence, Juniors are not included in the Overall standings and are instead scored separately.
