Hyannis Yacht Club Annual Regatta
July 28-30, 2000

The Hyannis Y.C. Annual Regatta is a large, multi-class event with about 250 boats. This was its 58th year, and there were 13 classes on 5 starting circles plus an ocean racing class. The Sunfish shared a course with Senior Beetle Cats and Mitey Mites.

Friday was sunny with winds of 12-15 knots and a lumpy sea. Six races were held with Jon Goff dominating with 4 bullets and 2 seconds. On Saturday, the wind was very light, necessitating a one hour postponement before the boats went out. Light winds continued for the day, with four races being held. Sunday also had light winds and a 45 minute delay. Three races were held with Drew Staniar winning all three and winning the regatta by 3 points over Jon Goff.
