Only a missed shift in a fluky third race kept Katja Riise from a perfect score in the 2002 edition of Pontchartrain Yacht Club's School's Out Regatta. Chris Friend was sometimes ahead, but Riise consistently sailed fast and high in steady 5 to 10 knot winds on a beautiful first weekend of June. Newcomers Aaron Pulaski and Deane Fraser were right in the action for the final two races, and promise to be factors on the junior circuit in the future.
