Youth North American Perpetual Trophy in honor of H. Clay Robertson IV
The Sunfish Youth North American Perpetual Trophy was given to the class in 1981 in honor of H. Clay Robertson IV from Charleston, South Carolina. Clay learned how to sail Sunfish at Camp Sea Gull (NC) and was an avid junior Sunfish racer at the Carolina Yacht Club. In 1981, his family donated this perpetual to the class to honor Clay at the 1981 Sunfish Jr. North Americans. His goal was to continue to hone his skills by participating in the big events like North Americans.
Today the trophy continues to be presented to the Champion at Youth North Americans.
